Barcelona - A Human City

Lisa Kjellström visits Barcelona with fellow facilitators for a retreat to pause on purpose.

Barcelona held a mirror up to me last week.

A city of art and edge. Of football chants and quiet cathedrals. Of grit, music, movement, old stories, and new becoming.

And somehow, in the middle of all of it, I got to be held by fellow facilitators - people who spend their lives holding spaces and places for others.

What a rare thing to be on the receiving end of that kind of presence.

I was pulled into discomfort…
Pushed toward new growth...
And cracked open in places I didn’t know still needed to find the light.

Wisdom didn’t arrive all at once. It landed slowly. In conversations. In silence. In my chosen word and intention - embodiment. In the spaces between certainty and surrender.

And maybe that’s why La Sagrada Família felt like the perfect backdrop.

A masterpiece still under construction.
Reaching upward.
Never fully complete… never hiding in its “togetherness”.
Beautiful not despite the unfinishedness - but because of it.

There’s something deeply human in that, isn’t there?!

I appreciate a friend and colleague putting together this video of the week in review - I know I’ll carry Barcelona and the gifts of the people who held me there with me for a long time.
