Pause. On Purpose.
Where Lisa shares ideas on leadership, attention, and where you’ll find her next…
In a world that pulls our attention in a hundred directions, it’s no surprise the adult mind is distracted nearly half the time (47% to be exact). And that distraction quietly erodes both our happiness and our ability to lead well.
Harvard research on “spacious mode” reminds us that when we create room to think, feel, and reflect, we don’t fall behind - we come back to ourselves. Because leadership isn’t just about output. It’s about showing up with your whole self, ready to hold space for others. That requires presence. It requires internal authority. It requires a return to your “why,” especially when the noise gets loud.
Pausing, then, isn’t indulgent - it’s essential. It’s how clarity is built, how meaning is reclaimed, how steady leadership takes root. Athletes understand this: rest is part of performance. Leaders need the same discipline. To choose presence. To choose joy. To dare to pause - not as an afterthought, but as a defining act of how you live and lead.
