Micro-Storytelling with the CSDA

Leaders often assume that if people have the information, they'll take action.

But information doesn't automatically create connection.

During a recent training on micro-storytelling, I worked with the California Special Districts Association and together, we explored a simple truth:

People may react to your data. But… they are far more likely to remember your story.

Stories help leaders:
• Build trust
• Create emotional connection
• Make complex ideas more relatable
• Help messages stick

The most effective leaders don't choose between facts and stories.

They use stories to help people understand why the facts matter.
